The Nimble studio File Transfer (NSFT) application needs a Studio ID, which is can be found by creating a studio in the Nimble Studio service of AWS. If you are using AWS organizations to manage multiple accounts, you will get “access denied” error while creating studio in any supported region, though user creating the studio had Admin privileges.
Suspicion is that you might have Service control policies enabled in AWS organization which is denying actions on Nimble studio service. At a high level, Service control policies will not affect the management account of AWS organizations and will affect the member accounts, so as the issue is with member accounts and not with management account, this inclines towards Service Control policies.
How did we check Access denied Error?
-
Customer logged in to AWS console -> Nimble Studio Service -> seen option to create studio is grayed out in all Nimble supported regions [ logged in as Admin ]
-
Go to web browser developer tools -> Reload the page -> Network Tab -> check for Failed call -> expand it to get more details -> where it says Access denied to the resource
Resolution
There is no resolution identified yet. As a workaround, please create a studio in the management account and add Studio ID in NSFT Application as there is no relation to what account created the studio for NSFT.
